Bird Flu, the next big Mantra being tossed about.

One of the things I have learned is once you see all the major news networks talking about 1 thing, all in unison something is afoot. Well several weeks ago I heard rumblings about the Avian Flu. How it is the next pandemic. Major sites about flu and virual can be found on the internet : Centres for disease Control and Prevention is a good site for information about new outbreaks. Other online sites show the history of pandemics and more. Funny how most of this sites are run for and by the major pharmisuitecal companys, like this site : http://www.flustar.com/pandemics_suffered.aspROFL , yup we are your savior ! Take our medicines. So anyways, whats with the mantra as I was saying before. Well pandemics have hit us, the flu has always been around and will always be here to cause harm and death. Its how we deal with it overall. I am all for sharing of information, medical knowledge and hopefully stopping major outbreaks. What I am not for, and if I were an american definitely trying to stop is once again the current Bush Administration from gaining even more dictatorship like powers when medical epidemics occur.

GOOD - In May 2005, the U.S. Secretary of HHS created a multi-agency National Influenza Pandemic Preparedness and Response Task Group. This unified initiative involves CDC and many other agencies (international, national, state, local and private) in planning for a potential pandemic. Its responsibility includes revision of a U.S. National Pandemic Influenza Response and Preparedness Plan.

VERY VERY BAD - Martial Law for your health ? We all seen how well FEMA did in New Orleans, with orders to take complete control many Aid Organizations had there own command centres and people shut down !!! Thats a whole new arguement, basically FEMA shut it all down, made it bad for all, then those in power said see, FEMA needs even more powers to prevent this. Now its no longer FEMA, its the millitary thats going to intervene for your security. What is that? Damm glad to be in Canada, for now.

WASHINGTON — President Bush, increasingly concerned about a possible avian flu pandemic, revealed Tuesday that any part of the country where the virus breaks out could likely be quarantined and that he is considering using the military to enforce the decision.

"The best way to deal with a pandemic is to isolate it and keep it isolated in the region in which it begins," he said during a wide-ranging Rose Garden news conference.
The president was asked if his recent talk of giving the military the lead in responding to large natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina and other catastrophes was in part the result of his concerns that state and local personnel aren't up to the task of a flu outbreak.
"Yes," he replied.
After the bungled initial federal response to Katrina, Bush suggested putting the Pentagon in charge of search-and-rescue efforts in times of a major terrorist attack or similarly catastrophic natural disaster. He has argued that the armed forces have the ability to quickly mobilize the equipment, manpower and communications capabilities needed in times of crisis.

But such a shift could require a change in law, and some in Congress and the states worry it would increase the power of the federal government at the expense of local control.

Links on this 1 2 3 , I ain't lying. Of course evil men who lie about being Xians could never take control of the USA ! ROFL !!! What purpose of other then education that the possible threat of a pandemic exsists could there be for all major networks to spew out this crap about DEATH, FEAR, BIRDS !!! Why fear, keep you in check.

I myself fiqure this is whats up, I could be wrong but from the M.O. these people have its this.
Spread fear [ link link link ] about the flu. Make people WANT THE VACCINE. There at first will be limits to how much is avalible, all part of the plan.

U.S. Researchers Make Progress on Bird Flu Vaccine

New vaccine production method could offer greater supplies

A U.S. research team is working on a method to produce bird flu vaccine that will provide a better public health response in the event of an influenza pandemic.

Scientists at Indiana’s Purdue University and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are using a harmless virus, an adenovirus, as a transmitting agent to deliver vaccine into cells.

This method contrasts with current vaccine production techniques that rely on growing vaccines in fertilized chicken eggs.

Current vaccine production methods would not allow a rapid increase in response to a wide-scale outbreak because they are both time-consuming and limited in their production capabilities.

Techniques for mass production of adenoviruses are already known because of their use in gene therapy, according to a September 12 Purdue University news release.

Development of flu vaccines is further complicated by the tendencies of bird flu viruses to combine inside an animal and form new viral strains. In doing so, they create multiple variants that can only be prevented under current methods with a custom-tailored vaccine.

"The ultimate goal of our research is to develop an effective avian influenza virus vaccine that will provide long-lasting and broad immunity against multiple strains of this virus," said Purdue molecular virologist Suresh Mittal.

A bird flu virus circulating now in 11 Asian nations has caused the deaths of more than 150 million birds. Humans have contracted the disease in about 120 cases through contact with birds; in roughly half of the human cases, patients have not survived.

International health officials warn that this virus – known as H5N1 – could mutate into a form easily transmissible among humans, exploding into a global pandemic as people succumb to a virus against which they have no immunity.

People will in supply and demand fight for it, making the sheep [ people I mean ] demand more for the masses. Then the vaccines carrying god knows what with it [ microchips or disease ect ] can be mass produced and the populace will damm well beg to have it slapped into there arm. So thats my take on it. And at the same time, if Lord Bush has his way, you people below me in the United States of American will have your local Millitary and Police [ which are not looking much different nowadays ] telling you what to do and how to do it. All for YOUR safety thou, and don't you forget it.
